Events Photography
It's entirely your choice. We can do your Maternity photoshoot at my home with a mini studio, or at your home - wherever you feel most comfortable.
Weather permitting, we may be able to take photos outdoors. When we have our pre-session chat on the phone, we will discuss all the options and what your vision is for your photoshoot.
I capture natural and beautiful shots. If you would like a setup studio shoot with props, there are photographers who specialise in this style of photography.
That depends on the time of year!
Dress for the weather and the location - if it's hot, then wear shorts and summery dresses, but bring layers to make your photos look interesting. If your location is with a National Trust property in the background, you may want smarter clothes than if you're being photographed in your local park.
If it's Spring or Summer, think of neutral colours and pastels that work well with Mother Nature! Autumn, you may want to match the leaves. Soft colours - browns, creams, pinks and soft blues, teal and green as well as richer colours like rusty red and mustard work well.
Layers and accessories work well An extra vest or t-shirt underneath your outfits, and cardigans, gilets, jackets or scarves
Make sure everyone is dressed in a similar way so nobody looks out of place, and ensure the kiddies clothes fit well, so they don't trip or look lost in their clothes.
Dress in plain colour clothes or with little prints - no large patterns, logos or writing, black or garish colours. You want to bledn in with the outdoor environment for best results.
Before your photoshoot, we will have discussed what you need them for and we will have chosen either a studio setup or a loction for your shoot, or both for the different uses you require.
I'll email you a link to your private online gallery where you can take your time viewing all the best images from your shoot. If you're struggling to choose, we can have a chat and I can help you with my suggestions.
Once you have selected the photos you want, and made payment, I will make the digital photos available to you within 24 hours.
To get the best photos, you need to feel confident and comfortable in what you are wearing.
Classic simple styles work best.
Very bright colours, large patterns, slogans etc detract from you, unless this is the style and look you wish to achieve.
Wear well fitted clothing for a more flattering look.
Black and white colour tops - yes! Also bring softer neutral shades for a softer look and if you're going for high energy, red is your power colour. Bring a variety of colours.
Bring a selection of tops with different necklines.
- Round necks are good for those who have longer necks. Don't make them too high.
- V-necks are great for bringing focus onto your face, and for those who are more petite.
- Off-the-shoulder tops are good for women, but be careful they are not too low cut.
Shirts - for a more formal look
Ties (men)- if you want a more corporate look
Shoes - Most portraits are only the head, neck and shoulders, so shoes aren't iportant, but women may wish to wear a slight heel to give good posture.
If we're doing an outdoor shoot, bring thin warm layers. It can get chilly and we need you to look relaxed and comfortable. A coat or jacket for the outdoor shots can look great, especially slung over the shoulder for a casual look.
My suggestion is for you to bring as many outfits as you'd like, within the time we have available. Variety is good, so you have more photograph options to choose from out of the photoshoot.

These days, many people prefer a portrait that speaks to who they are, and captures their uniquess as an individual.
Traditionally, headshots have been in a studio with controlled lighting and this is perfect if you want formal adult portraits. There are many photographic studios that do this style of photography.
For our photoshoot, we can set up a mini studio if you need a white background, or we can choose a location that is special to you - where you feel the most relaxed and comfortable, so we can capture the essence of you.
Pets complete a home - they too have lives worth celebrating, intertwined with our own.
Pets show us unconditional love - something us mere humans aspire to. Pets make us better people and they deserve to have their lives documented, playing such an important role in our own lives as our best friends who always have a hug for us whenever we need it, or want to play at all times!
